We went up American Fork Canyon to the first campground available. Because it was during the week it wasn't crowded at all! We built a fire first to get our tin foil dinners cooking and then went for a little hike. Where we camped was just up from a river which meant we could hear the sound of the river all the time! It was perfect! Emily loved throwing rocks in the river! We had to stay pretty close to make sure she didn't tumble in!
The few days before camping as we would prep Emily and get her excited about camping all she would talk about is roasting marshmellows and sleeping in a tent! So despite the fullness of our tummies after our delicious dinners we roasted Marshmellows! And she still talks about it even now!
After roasting we put Emily to bed in the tent and Mark and I just enjoyed watching the fire together! It was so peaceful and relaxing! We slept great and the next morning we enjoyed hot chocolate and a very gourmet breakfast! We had eggs, sausage, bacon and OJ! It was spectacular! Emily loved every second of being outside! The rest of the morning we entertained ourselves by watching Emily have so much fun, going on another hike (aka long walk), and driving through the canyon and seeing the fall colors on the trees! Utterly magnificent! This was the best family adventure we have had in a while!
SO fun! Emily is getting so big! She's a cutie!
ReplyDeleteBekah loves camping as well. I guess it is the only time I let her get REALLY dirty. Looks like it was a great little get away. I bet it was cold. Hope everything is going well.
ReplyDeleteI love the blog face lift! It looks like it was a fun camping trip! You're such a good mom! Emily is lucky to have you and Mark!
